Two middle-aged white men in dark, neat suits stand in front of a black background. Their shoulders are touching, they are slightly turned away from each other. Their faces are brightly lit and they look serious and expressionless.

The actor Matthias Brandt has reached an audience of millions in numerous films, as well as most recently in the Netflix series "King of Stonks" and in theater at the Berliner Ensemble. His 2019 debut novel "Blackbird" is a critically acclaimed bestseller, which he also presented at Kampnagel. In German, Brandt now presents their jointly developed new word-music collage with pianist and voice performer Jens Thomas at the piano. Based on a tale by literary romantic outsider E.T.A. Hoffmann, the two take the audience on a journey through a night of loss of reality, at the end of which is the awakening in eternal love.
