For the second time, the busy US-American musician, poet and activist Camae Ayewa now comes to Kampnagel as Moor Mother to spark a radical and genre-transcending great impact. Jazz, hip hop or noise - Moor Mother permeates musical genres to thematically address the marginalization of the Black community, active resistance and the possible overcoming of collective trauma. Last year she released her globally acclaimed album »Black Encyclopedia of the Air,« which drew from gospel, blues and jazz protest songs »that do justice to the seriousness of the world situation« (DIE ZEIT). Along the way, she has worked and released albums with the free-jazz collective Irreversible Entanglements, her futuristic club duo 700 Bliss, and as a guest with the groundbreaking quartet Sons of Kemet, among others, which played the sold-out Elbphilharmonie at the Kampnagel Summer Festival. July saw the release of her new album, »Jazz Codes,« which traces the traditions of Black U.S. music and its struggle for freedom with the musicians of Irreversible Entanglements and a dozen guests - and draws a standard-setting perspective on the future from the subversive core of jazz. Live, Moor Mother will bring her album to the stage solo with diverse instruments.

The evening can be perfectly extended with the FINE SPACE party by host Best Boy Electric, which will take place after the concert. A double ticket is available for 21 euros (the discount is available in the webshop if tickets for both evenings are in the shopping cart).
