The »good girl syndrome«, which according to Laury Penny describes the circumstance of maintaining the outward appearance of functionality, also affects women in art, because separating one's own original desires from society’s role expectations and the art market is very difficult. With MOTHERING MOVE(S), the Hamburg artist mothers Liz Rech and Sylvi Kretzschmar create an intimate and at the same time public space that shows solidarity, that reflects the everyday knowledge and realities of artistic practice and realities of artistic production in an aesthetic and political framework with artists and spectators. A kaleidoscope of interview fragments, photos, original sound collages, performative research setups, songs and videos describe the field of tension between reproduction and art production.
