My Brightest Diamond

The band project My Brightest Diamond by American artist Shara Nova is a stroke of luck for pop music: The studied singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist dismantles the boundaries between chamber music, rock, avant-garde and electronic music - and writes songs with symphonic complexity and pop light-footedness at the same time. As a singer she also worked with Laurie Anderson, David Byrne and Sufjan Stevens, and for the Kampnagel Summer Festival in 2013 she composed a spectacular pop opera for baroque orchestras, which was also released as an album. In August 2018 Shara Nova returned to the Summer Festival with a large orchestra project and presented amongst others My Brightest Diamond songs with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra in the Elbphilharmonie.

For the 2000 concert visitors who gave long and standing ovations, however, the prospects are brilliant. In autumn the fifth My Brightest Diamond album »A Million And One« will be released and Shara Nova is coming to Hamburg once again to play this pop flavor enhancement live with band on Kampnagel. Support comes from musical chameleon Fontaine Burnett: The American, who lives in Germany, ennobles musicians as diverse as Gentleman and Wynton Marsalis as a multi-instrumentalist.
