There are vocalists with such intense expression and timbre that they can reach far beyond themselves and seamlessly connect with the great voices of music history. The US neo-soul and folk singer Annahstasia Enuke belongs in this category. On two EPs to date, she has released songs that address her experiences as a Black woman ("Millionaire"), oppression ("Midas"), and star-crossed love ("While You Were Sleeping"). The intensity, vulnerability, and vocal dynamics of her music inevitably bring to mind artists such as Nina Simone, Roberta Flack, or Tracy Chapman. At the age of 28, Annahstasia is at the beginning of her artistic journey, which also includes a global career as a model. The daughter of two fashion designers with Nigerian and German-Polish roots, who grew up in the USA, will likely perform for the last time in a smaller club setting at Kampnagel Summer Festival, pointing towards a promising future. Support comes from Hamburg singer-songwriter Moyo Ray, who has already captivated large audiences at Summer Festival with her guitar and a jazzy soul voice.
