In the 300,000-year history of modern mankind, there has never been a moment in which war has not been waged somewhere in the world. Although most of the world’s inhabitants seem to be against it, there are few endeavours that Homo sapiens has implemented as reliably as large-scale murder. In their latest production WAR GAMES, SKART & Masters of the Universe, together with performers from Meine Damen und Herren, explore the phenomenon of war as a performative cultural history. Together with students from STS Altona, they examine armed conflicts as social vicious circles. In the form of artistic endless loops, they pose the question: Why is “Never again!” not now?
