News from the valleys of sadness: Tindersticks, the emotionally profound quintet that has released 13 studio albums of chamber music pop and composed various film soundtracks since 1993, is returning to Kampnagel. Tindersticks songs are literary works of musical art that can be both melancholic and uplifting, embodying the best of pop ambiguity. Their sound is characterized by complex arrangements, singer Stuart A. Staples' velvety dark baritone and lyrics about confused emotional worlds. Ahead of their first tour after the pandemic, the band will release their 14th studio album, which has been recorded in Girona, Catalonia. This follows their previous albums created in the seclusion of Ithaca Island (No Treasure but Hope, 2019) and on Staples' French country estate near Limoges (Distractions, 2021).
