How can we restore suppressed knowledge about Germany’s colonial past? And what specific role did Hamburg play in this story? The Hamburg-based choreographer Yolanda Gutiérrez takes the audience with her on a corporeal and architectural research trip into the HafenCity, where streets are still named after the »conquerors« of the »New World«. Nowhere else is the lasting legacy of colonialism for the »Hansestadt« so apparent. On a walk that is also an audio play, performers from Dar es Salaam and Hamburg portray how their individual experiences and biographies reflect German-Tanzanian history.
