Attitudes

Since last season, Kampnagel has been part of the European hip hop dance network ATTITUDES, which offers hip hop artists a platform for artistic production, international exchange, and touring. Under the direction of six renowned cultural institutions – in addition to Kampnagel, CCNRB (FR), Dansekapellet (DK), HOP Festival (ES), Norrlandsoperan (SE), and Summer Dance Forever (NL) – ATTITUDES invites a total of six promising hip hop dancers and choreographers to create works for the stage or alternative spaces in order to bring together diverse audiences from all over Europe. In autumn 2024, the first three productions by Black Pearl, Camilla Siddu, and CREATE4 premiered at Kampnagel and then went on an international tour. Now comes the second series with three new productions, which will premiere at Norrlandsoperan on 10 May and then tour to Kampnagel: Majeko with CHASING BUTTERFLIES, IronSkulls Co with MIRAR, and Kaê Brown Carvalho & Jerson Diasonama with JOGO DE DENTRO. In addition, street and club dance culture artists Brooklyn, and Zaniah & Roof (DJ) will present the results of their two-week residencies to the audience. The NATIONAL DANCE SUMMIT, a four-day festival and networking event for the national and international street and club dance culture scene, will also take place at Kampnagel at the same time as the ATTITUDES weekend – with a Hang Out Space, moderated talks, the OFFSPRING BATTLE by Hamburg group Die Antwort, and opportunities to celebrate together – for example, with the FRISCO PARTY hosted by Jada. A weekend that invites you to immerse yourself in the history of the street and club dance culture scene!
