In most restaurants, before your palate experiences the food, it is cut, cooked and served by people whose existence stays invisible. Rarely do your interactions overlap. Between them and you, there will always be a gap: a "lacuna". The artist Abhishek Thapar takes this gap as the starting point for his new production, which was created as part of the residency program "Exile Today," and does his best to mend it. In LACUNA KITCHEN, the food and the people who prepare, serve and clean up are treated with attention and care. The audience is invited to participate in the restaurant's front and back operations. Learn from experts: the art of invisibility, anecdotes and autobiographies from the Western gastronomy and service industry. Be enchanted by our plant-based menu: Four courses of vibrant and creative cuisine. Immerse, Indulge, watch closely, listen deeply and relish the delicacy of labor.
