Since Icelandic composer Valgeir Sigurðsson worked with Björk on the Dancer in the Dark soundtrack and founded the groundbreaking label Bedroom Community, he has become one of the most influential figures in music that bridges the worlds of pop and classical. Before performing his latest project, Isabelle Lewis, at the Elbphilharmonie in May, he will present it at Kampnagel. Named after the fictional character Isabelle Lewis, this project sees Sigurðsson collaborate with countertenor Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe and violinist Elisabeth Klinck. The result is an intense fusion of past and present, of human and machine – a Rococo treasure viewed under cold neon light.
