Renowned Indian chef Suvir Saran will grace the Summer Festival by hosting groups of 40 people at a time for a culinary journey through India at a pop-up restaurant in the festival garden. Saran studied art in Bombay, moved to New York City, and became the first Indian chef in the US to be awarded a Michelin star. He also publishes books, appears on TV shows, and is a cosmopolitan food philosopher with a transcultural mission. Chef Saran is coming to Hamburg with a team of Indian chefs and musicians to showcase the cultural diversity of India through a wide array of tastes and flavors. They will tell the story of a country where languages, clothing, music-, and dance-traditions change every few hundred kilometers. In a special restaurant tent, Suvir Saran will serve a menu consisting of several dishes, stories, and songs. Reservations for the restaurant can be made through the Kampnagel Ticketshop. For those who can no longer find a seat, as always, Peacetanbul, our permanent restaurant of the heart serves fine food in a welcoming atmosphere for the thousands at the festival site.
