Last year, Saeleen Bouvar, founder of Hamburg’s SALON QUEERTRONIQUE, organized the TRANSTRONICA festival at Kampnagel for the first time – and at the same time invented the world’s first ever electronic music festival with an all-trans* lineup. Guests traveled from all over Germany, and queer artists from all over the world contacted Saeleen with congratulations and requests to be part of the next edition. Now, the second edition of the festival is just around the corner: Under the title “A Place to Be”, the legendary, historic places where being trans* was possible will be celebrated for three evenings. In addition to numerous DJ sets, there will be concerts by Angel-Ho from South Africa, Elles The Doll, Tami T, Podeserdesligado, Geraldxoxo and Rouge Mary.

Dear audience, photographs will be taken during the event for documentation purposes. Please communicate to the person taking the pictures if you do not want to be recognisable in the pictures.

Possible triggers: rapid light changes, possibly stroboscope, loud music, stuffy air, spatial confinement, crowds, serving alcohol, possibly nudity. The festival celebrates queer and trans* culture. Individual contributions refer musically, linguistically and performatively to the history and present of queer identities, especially trans* Persons of Color, which are unfortunately often marked by discrimination and violence. Thus, racism, sexism, homo-/inter-/transphobia, physical, mental or sexual violence can be addressed, which can have a (re-)traumatizing effect on some people.
