You squeeze my hand right before the steps begin. We dance together after the hospital calls. You lead me, hands holding, are we on a date after all? I say thank you and you ask: What for? Intimacy is the ungraspable feeling of warmth, eroticism, vulnerability or tenderness. In WITH OR WITHOUT YOU, the disabled dancers Fia Neises and Irene Giró invite the audience into spaces of “access intimacy” (Mia Mingus). They will disrupt prevalent habits of seeing, hearing and time and while hanging in the air, surrender to the illusion of independence. Accompanied by musician Jana Sotzko, they share stories of ambivalence and intimacy in assistance. Those who wish can participate or otherwise witness with pleasure.

There is no guided tour for this play, but earlier admission for everyone. This will be accompanied by "Access Friends", who will provide assistance in choosing seats if required:

  • The doors open 30 minutes before the start of the performance. During this time, the audience can explore and touch the stage. In addition, everyone can choose the seat or reclining option that suits them best.
  • At the entrance, Access Friends will help you choose your seat. They wear orange bibs, are sensitized and also draw attention to themselves by letting you know that they are at your disposal. They are also happy to show you the stage. The Access Friends also include a communication assistant (DGS spoken language). The audience is not obliged to make use of their assistance.

We kindly ask all visitors of this event to test themselves for Covid before attending and to wear a mask, if it does not restrict their own accessibility. If you have flu symptoms, please refrain from attending the event.

At the SORRY NOT SORRY festival, we offer discounted tickets for disabled, chronically ill, deaf and neurodivergent people. These can be purchased in the webshop, by phone or at the box office. Use the code notsorry (tickets: 8 euros) for the shows Thunderbird's Transformation, With or Without You, Harmonia, Matters of Rhythm, and Butching Cowboys and the code notsorryk6 (tickets: 12 euros) for ÔSS. All other events are free of charge or free choice of price on site. Please do not book the discounted tickets if you do not belong to one of these groups.

When required, we offer a personal pick-up service from nearby subway or bus stations, for example for blind and visually impaired persons. As our capacities are not unlimited, please send us an e-mail to barrierefreiheit@kampnagel.de or contact us on 040 270 949 323. Please let us know your name, a telephone number where we can reach you, the date of your visit to our theater, your arrival time and bus stop, and which play you will attend. We will then get back to you promptly and confirm your request.

Irene: Here in the picture with your back to the camera and you are pictured from the front. Fia: I'm between the two silks. Just one step above the ground. My hands are free and I'm straight as a candle.

Irene: Two images superimposed in a shadowy way, lots of white flowing fabric and sensuality. In the moment in the rear picture, we are both on the soft mat, close together and both in contact with the silk. Fia: Both bodies in a cocoon.

Irene: At that moment in the picture, we are both on the soft mat, close together and both in contact with the Silk. Fia: I tried to trace with my hand how your hand touches the Silk upwards.

Irene: We're lying on the floor. At the very beginning. You're on my left. One of my legs is wrapped around you. The orange of your pants stands out. My right arm moves into a hug. But it's not an active hug, it's gentle.

Irene: This picture has two directions. The Silk comes from above. It holds us together. And then a large part flies to the right. The silk is spread out, perhaps like a sail in the wind. Fia: I grabbed it at that moment and threw it up.
