Live Art Festival #11 & Claiming Common Spaces III

Welcome to the Pleasurezone

One phenomenon of the current Corona pandemic is the walking boom. In the absence of virtually any alternatives, walking is experiencing a renaissance and has to be used for both meetings and dates. The Situationist International proclaimed aimless wandering to be an art form, but now that people constantly go on walks, what is needed is a really good occasion. For example, a walk through the temporary art park, the new PLEASUREZONE, on the Kampnagel grounds. In June, we will transform Kampnagel into an art park, a temporary Pleasurezone, which will use public space for libation through art and digital technology. An experimental arrangement for a coronaic catharsis will be created: the art park as a corona-safe immersive open-air experience. For this purpose, different objects and installations are arranged on the site, allowing visitors* to have the best possible sensory experiences and physical challenges. PLEASURESZONE is an associative course, ranging from sporty and playful installations to solo hang-outs and objects that impress by their beauty alone. Where better to enjoy the lockdown summertime blues than here?

We have integrated another festival into the program of this edition of the LIVE ART FFESTIVAL: CLAIMING COMMON SPACES, an event initiated by the Alliance of International Production Venues, which takes place annually in a different one of the seven theaters. After festivals at HAU Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin and at tanzhaus nrw and FFT Düsseldorf, Kampnagel invites you to the third edition in 2021.

Festivals are quite a challenge in a pandemic, so we have worked out a variant that can definitely take place and yet is not a purely digital event.
