In ghostly self-portraits and performances, the multidisciplinary artist Ndoho Ange questions the spirituality of our time. Rooted in hip hop and house dance, drawing from the Dunham technique, Ange, who is a part of Saïdo Lehouh's ensemble for TÉMOIN and performed at Kampnagel in EARTHBOUND (2022), combines styles of urban dance and traditional rituals to create trance-like performances in her choreographic work. In the framework of Saïdo Lehlouh’s curation CORE, she will conjure up the spirits of figures absent in the works at Hamburger Kunsthalle and enter into a dialogue with her personal deities such as Frantz Fanon, Prince, or James Baldwin. Together with harpist and RnB singer Sophye Soliveau, she explores in three locations at the Kunsthalle how invisible stories and beings can take shape through different artistic languages.
